ATHLETICS COUNCIL
The Athletics Council, as appointed by the Chancellor, serves in an advisory capacity on
athletics matters and concerns and makes recommendations to the Chancellor involving
the administration of the athletics program within NCAA, CAA and institutional rules
and regulations. The Council also reviews the academic interests and progress of
student-athletes.
STUDENT-ATHLETE ADVISORY COMMITTEE
The Student-Athlete Advisory Committee is comprised of student-athlete representation
from each athletic team. The Student-Athlete Advisory Committee brings athletics
concerns and issues to the Director of Athletics and Deputy Athletic Director/Senior
Woman Administrator and makes recommendations to the Athletics Department
involving the athletics programs.
Compliance Responsibility Flow Chart
Athletics Department personnel are responsible for compliance with NCAA, CAA and
institutional rules and regulations. Specific compliance responsibilities and reporting
relationships of the Faculty Athletics Representative, the Assistant Athletic Director for
Compliance and other key individuals inside and outside of the Athletics Department are
illustrated below:
1. Director of Compliance
a. Monitor compliance with NCAA rules and regulations
b. Prepare and complete NCAA reports
c. Serve as liaison for Department of Athletics with internal and external offices
d. Certify student-athlete eligibility
e. Attend CAA compliance seminars
2. Admissions Office
a. Receive and evaluate admission applications
b. Preliminarily evaluates transcripts prior to official visits and during
recruitment process
c. Attend CAA compliance seminars
3. Financial Aid Office
a. Approve and sign athletics grant-in-aids
b. Monitor student-athlete financial aid per NCAA regulations
c. Complete and update NCAA Squad List annually
