ASSISTANT DIRECTOR OF ATHLETICS FOR MARKETING AND
DEVELOPMENT
The Assistant Athletic Director for Marketing and Development is responsible for
marketing and fundraising for the athletics program within NCAA, CAA and institutional
rules and regulations.
ASSISTANT DIRECTOR OF ATHLETICS FOR ACADEMICS
The Assistant Athletic Director for Academics is responsible for advising studentathletes,
coordinating tutorial assistance for student-athletes and monitoring and reporting
academic progress according to the NCAA, CAA and institutional rules and regulations.
DIRECTOR OF ATHLETIC TRAINING
The Director of Athletic Training is responsible for ensuring the medical and
rehabilitation services of all student-athletes, their medical reports and the permissible
medical expenses and treatment procedures comply with NCAA, CAA and institutional
rules and regulations.
ATHLETICS DEPARTMENT PERSONNEL
All Athletics Department personnel are responsible for the knowledge of and adherence
to NCAA, CAA and institutional rules and regulations as they pertain to their specific
areas of responsibilities. Each individual is held accountable for their actions. It is
imperative that individuals submit appropriate reports, forms, and documents to the
Director of Compliance as required on a timely basis. All Athletic Department Staff
members are required to pass the NCAA Recruiting Exam..
Athletics Department personnel must comply with all applicable rules and regulations,
assist in monitoring the program to assure compliance, identify and report any instances
in which compliance may have been jeoparidized and assist in taking appropriate
corrective actions. Failure to comply with NCAA, CAA and institutional rules and
regulations may result in termination of an employment contract.
Per NCAA Bylaw 11, athletics coaching staff members must be knowledgeable of the
conduct and employment of athletics personnel. It is imperative that coaches who are
identified as the head or assistant coach, graduate assistant coach, undergraduate assistant
coach and/or volunteer coach in a particular sport be knowledgeable of their position’s
definition and the guidelines within which they are employed and permitted to be
compensated or remunerated and able to receive benefit or incur expenses.
FACULTY ATHLETICS REPRESENTATIVE
The Faculty Athletics Representative is responsible for adhering to NCAA, CAA and
institutional rules and regulations. This individual serves the academic interests of
student-athletes and is a contributing member on the academic certification team. The
FAR is involved in and contributes to many areas in the Athletic Department, such as
reviewing student-athletes’ academic progress, approving the NCAA Squad List,
