Compliance with OSHA standards;<br />

Training programs for Local Safety Committees' members;<br />

Right-to-Know Training;<br />

Communicable diseases in the workplace and the prevention thereof;<br />

Review workers' compensation claims experience and First Reports of Injury;<br />

The appropriate handling of bomb threats;<br />

Safety shoes;<br />

Methods of distribution of safety related policies;<br />

Review issues of VDT safety; and<br />

Additional issues of mutual concern.<br />

The Committee shall make recommendations to the Commissioner of <strong>Minnesota</strong> <strong>Management</strong><br />

& <strong>Budget</strong>, who may then refer them to other appropriate State officials.<br />

B. Affirmative Action Committee. The Committee shall be composed of eight (8) persons<br />

designated by the Employer and an equal number of persons designated by the Union.<br />

<br />

The Committee shall meet as determined by the parties. This Committee shall study:<br />

<br />

<br />

Affirmative action plans;<br />

Affirmative action goals and objectives, including specific procedures to promote<br />

achievement of hiring goals and protection of goals in event of layoff;<br />

Data, including labor market statistics to determine if protected class individuals are<br />

available for employment or exist in present State employment;<br />

Proposed solutions to existing problems brought to the Committee for review and<br />

discussion;<br />

Measures to provide maximum cooperation with goals and objectives determined by the<br />

Committee;<br />

Sexual harassment training;<br />

Possible methods of increasing employees' awareness of the types and effects of<br />

discrimination and the resources available to them to determine if they have been the object<br />

of discrimination; and<br />

Work with the ACCESS (Alliance for Collaboration and Cooperation in Employment and<br />

State Services), the Diversity Action Council and the Office of Diversity to develop<br />

statewide anti-discrimination and diversity training.<br />

C. Child Care Committee. This Committee shall be composed of no more than five (5)<br />

representatives of the Employer and no more than five (5) representatives of the Union. The<br />

Committee shall:<br />

Disseminate information to Appointing Authorities regarding existing on-site child care<br />

facilities and the feasibility of establishing such facilities;<br />

Provide assistance to interested parties regarding the establishment of on-site child care<br />

facilities;<br />

Prepare informative materials on child care for employees, as appropriate;<br />

Address any other issues of mutual concern;<br />

Assist Local Unions and/or Appointing Authorities which wish to establish on-site child care.<br />
