Variable schedule employees will be scheduled for a portion of their time; however, additional<br />

hours may be assigned within the posting period. Any schedule change within the posting period<br />

will not result in penalty pay. Additional hours shall be treated as a posted schedule. However,<br />

employees can refuse additional hours within the posted schedule three (3) times per quarter<br />

without penalty.<br />

Reduction to Part-time: (For All Employees)<br />

Article 5, Section 4.A of the Master Agreement is changed as follows:<br />

<strong>Management</strong> may permanently reduce your employment condition from full-time to part-time only<br />

by a written agreement between you, <strong>Management</strong> and the Local Union. Upon request<br />

management will provide you with a list of your affected benefits before the reduction.<br />

Overtime<br />

Next Immediate Subsequent Shift: (For All Employees)<br />

The next shift includes any shift that begins within thirty (30) minutes of the end of the current shift.<br />

Overtime Rates:<br />

Article 6, Section 2 of the Master Agreement is changed as follows:<br />

Overnight Activities. (For All Employees)<br />

If you are assigned to supervise residents in activities that last for twenty (24) hours, you will be<br />

paid eight (8) hours straight time, eight (8) hours at your overtime rate and eight (8) hours at the<br />

on-call rate.<br />

Overtime Distribution:<br />

Article 6, Section 4 of the Master Agreement is changed as follows:<br />

Assignment: (For All Employees)<br />

If you are currently working an overtime assignment, you cannot be forced to work the next shift<br />

even if you are the least senior person.<br />

You cannot volunteer or be forced to work more than sixteen (16) hours except for overnight<br />

activities, emergencies, or the change to Central Standard Time.<br />

Your supervisor will assign overtime work as soon as practicable once the need is known.<br />

If you use unscheduled sick leave, personal leave or leave without pay on the preceding shift<br />

because of personal illness, you will not be eligible for overtime work.<br />

You cannot be assigned mandatory overtime between the end of your last scheduled shift and an<br />

approved leave.<br />

Before offering overtime, your supervisor will offer the available hours at straight time to the<br />

following employees (where applicable) in the following order:<br />
