5. Scheduled to work no more than seven (7) consecutive days with two (2) weekends (Saturday<br />

and Sunday) out of every four (4) weekends (Saturday and Sunday). Scheduled days off need<br />

not be consecutive; or<br />

6. Scheduled to work no more than four (4) consecutive ten (10) hour days with every third<br />

weekend (Saturday and Sunday) off. Scheduled days off need not be consecutive; or<br />

7. Scheduled to work five (5) consecutive days with two (2) consecutive days off. Such days off<br />

shall be fixed and bid by seniority.<br />

If due to a change in the operation of a unit/program it becomes necessary to permanently change<br />

the scheduling pattern of employees in the interest of efficient operations, to meet the needs of the<br />

public, the Department, or the Center, to provide for more beneficial resident/client services, or to<br />

better use facilities or the working forces, no less than thirty (30) calendar days notice shall be<br />

given to the Local Union. The Local Union and the Appointing Authority shall meet and confer to<br />

develop a reasonable scheduling pattern for that unit/program prior to the fourteen (14) day posting<br />

period provided for in Article 5, Section 1 (C).<br />

Part-time Employees<br />

Part-time employees shall be scheduled for a minimum of four (4) days off in a two (2) week pay<br />

period. At least two (2) of the days off shall be consecutive and such part-time employees shall not<br />

be scheduled for more than seven (7) consecutive days of work.<br />

Intermittent employees: (For All employees)<br />

If you are an intermittent employee, your supervisor may schedule you to cover:<br />

sick leave,<br />

leaves of absence,<br />

staff training and development,<br />

jury duty,<br />

informational meetings and<br />

workers’ compensation situations.<br />

Your supervisor will offer all of the additional hours to part-time employees first, if the hours do not<br />

result in the payment of overtime. (From ER 80-92)<br />

Fixed Night Shift:<br />

(For All Employees)<br />

Article 5, Section 3 of the Master Agreement is supplemented as follows:<br />

All night shifts are fixed. When a night shift position becomes vacant, <strong>Management</strong> must post it for<br />

bids. If no one successfully bids on the position, <strong>Management</strong> may recruit and hire for the vacancy<br />

or reassign the person who is capable and qualified with the least State Seniority but not on a fixed<br />

night schedule.<br />
