Article 3<br />

Probation Extensions<br />

Article 12, Section 10F of the Master Agreement shall be supplemented and/or modified as follows:<br />

Extensions of probationary periods can be agreed upon in writing between the Administrator and<br />

the Local Union.<br />

MINNESOTA ZOOLOGICAL GARDENS<br />

Article 1<br />

Employees Returning from Workers' Compensation<br />

Prior to returning a bargaining unit employee to work who is not in current position because of<br />

workers' compensation limitations, the Appointing Authority shall notify the Local Union of the work<br />

assignment and any restrictions affecting the employee's work. Upon request, the Appointing<br />

Authority agrees to meet with the Local Union.<br />

Article 2<br />

Vacancies<br />

Article 12, Sections 1-7, shall be modified and/or supplemented as follows:<br />

For vacancies that are posted, permanent full-time Zoo Keepers and Farm Keepers may be<br />

allowed to bid between those two (2) classes if they have previously served for at least six (6) nonconsecutive<br />

months in the class they are bidding on.<br />

Any employee who has successfully filled a vacancy via a bid into the Zoo Keeper classification<br />

from the Farm Keeper classification (or vice versa) shall not be entitled to bid on another vacancy<br />

for a period of six (6) months following the date upon which the employee exercised the bid.<br />

For vacancies that are posted, if there is more than one bidder, the seniority used to determine<br />

whether the bid is successful for the Zoo Keeper and/or Farm Keeper positions shall be<br />

determined by the time previously spent in the class that is being bid on. Upon a successful bid,<br />

the new Keeper will be required to serve a six (6) month probationary period.<br />

Article 3<br />

Attendance at Union Meetings<br />

The provisions of the Master Agreement shall be supplemented and/or modified as follows:<br />

Employees who are scheduled to work at the same time as a regular monthly Local Union meeting<br />

may, with the approval of their immediate supervisor, adjust their hours of work, not to exceed two<br />

(2) hours, to allow their attendance at the meeting.<br />

The Appointing Authority shall have no liability for overtime hours of pay for any extra time worked<br />

to offset the Union meeting.<br />

Article 4<br />

Pay Differentials<br />

Pay Differential Assignment to Heavy Equipment Operator (Intermittent). Heavy Equipment<br />

Operator (Intermittent) assignments shall be made from among certified available employees<br />

capable of performing the work.<br />
