**For purposes of this Section, “hours worked/paid” means all hours worked, and all paid leaves of<br />

absence, paid vacation and sick leave, paid floating holidays and compensatory time off. Overtime<br />

hours are included in “hours worked/paid” based on the number of hours worked, not the number<br />

of hours compensated.<br />

Duluth Airfield Firefighters may accumulate unused vacation to any amount provided that once<br />

during each fiscal year each employee’s accumulation must be reduced to five hundred and thirty<br />

(530) hours or less. This must be accomplished on or before the last day of the fiscal year. If not,<br />

the amount of vacation shall be automatically reduced to five hundred and thirty (530) hours at the<br />

end of the fiscal year.<br />

Article 8, Section 4 of the Master Agreement shall be supplemented and/or modified as follows:<br />

Employees who use vacation shall be charged only for the number of hours they would have been<br />

scheduled to work during the period of absence.<br />

Article 4<br />

Sick Leave – Duluth Airfield Firefighters<br />

Article 9, Section 2 of the Master Agreement shall be supplemented and/or modified as follows:<br />

Eligible Duluth Airfield Firefighters shall accrue sick leave at the rate of five and one half (5.5)<br />

hours per pay period of continuous employment beginning with their date of eligibility.<br />
