The Administrator shall make every effort to schedule Unit 3 employees within each class, within<br />

each shift to have alternate holidays off each year.<br />

To provide for this holiday rotation plan, employees may not request vacation leave that would<br />

include the holiday(s) they are scheduled to work, except that requests for such holidays may be<br />

arranged through mutually agreed exchanges by the employees.<br />

Article 5<br />

Union Leave<br />

Article 10, Section 4H, Leaves of Absence of the Master Agreement shall be modified as follows:<br />

Employees shall be allowed to request vacation/compensatory time to prevent loss of earnings to<br />

attend two (2) annual <strong>AFSCME</strong>, Council 5 conventions, two (2) President’s meetings/workshops<br />

and one (1) Leadership conference.<br />

Article 1<br />

Hours of Work<br />

Article 5, Section 3 of the Master Agreement shall be supplemented and/or modified as follows:<br />

1. Work Period. Full-time employees shall at the Appointing Authority's discretion be:<br />

A. Full-time Employees. Full-time employees shall, at the Administrator’s discretion, be:<br />

1. Scheduled to work no more than six (6) consecutive days and no fewer than three (3)<br />

consecutive days and shall have consecutive days off; or,<br />

2. Scheduled to work no more than seven (7) consecutive days and no fewer than three<br />

(3) consecutive days with two (2) or more weekends (Saturday and Sunday) off out of<br />

every eight (8) weekends (Saturday and Sunday). Scheduled days off shall be<br />

consecutive; or,<br />

3. Scheduled to work no more than seven (7) consecutive days with two (2) weekends<br />

(Saturday and Sunday) out of every four (4) weekends (Saturday and Sunday) off.<br />

Scheduled days off need not be consecutive.<br />

B. Part-time Employees. Part-time employees shall be scheduled for a minimum of four (4)<br />

days off in a two (2) week pay period. At least two (2) of the days off shall be consecutive<br />

and such part-time employees shall not be scheduled for more than seven (7) consecutive<br />

days of work.<br />

2. Fixed Night Shift (for all units except Units 2 and 7).<br />

A. Scheduling. Where continuous operations require a night shift, such shift shall be fixed<br />

and vacancies in such fixed shifts shall be posted. If there are no eligible bidders for fixed<br />

night shift vacancies, the Administrator may recruit and hire applicants for the vacancy or<br />

assign the capable and qualified employee not on fixed nights with the least Classification<br />

Seniority to the vacancy.<br />
