The sign-up procedure for voluntary extra hours is the same sign-up procedure used for<br />

voluntary overtime. At the time of sign-up, the employee must indicate whether they are<br />

interested in voluntary extra hours, overtime, or both.<br />

Employees must indicate in writing, dated and signed (email is acceptable), to the site<br />

supervisor when adding/changing or dropping sites.<br />

Once the supervisor has received the list of employees eligible to pick up extra hours at<br />

their site(s), the supervisor will arrange for necessary training. Each site will develop its<br />

own training packet/requirements.<br />

Employees who select the crisis home as one of their sites may be required to complete<br />

another background study.<br />

Employees will be paid at their regular rate of pay for all hours worked, and will receive shift<br />

differential for eligible hours under the voluntary extra hours procedure. However,<br />

employees will not be reimbursed mileage under the voluntary extra hours procedure.<br />

Employees who are on vacation or who use sick leave or compensatory time will not be<br />

considered available to work on that day or during the identified vacation period (XV day).<br />

Work Partnership Procedure<br />

For Metro, South, and Walker only:<br />

(Not applicable to temporary employees, HST Overnight option employees, intermittent employees,<br />

or employees outside the bargaining unit).<br />

If you are part-time, you will be offered additional hours in your own work area and may be offered<br />

additional hours in other work areas. If you sign up for additional hours under the Work<br />

Partnership:<br />

you will be eligible for full insurance benefits;<br />

you will be responsible to notify in writing the Human Resources department to coordinate<br />

your insurance benefits;<br />

you must notify your supervisor and the supervisor of other sites if you wish to work in<br />

them;<br />

all staff will be contacted, based on State Seniority, in their own work site for additional<br />

hours, you will need to put in writing if you do not wish to be called in your own site;<br />

if you are on vacation or have used sick leave or compensatory time, you will not be<br />

considered available to work on that day;<br />

<strong>Management</strong> will review the number of hours you work every three (3) months. Your<br />

insurance eligibility will be adjusted based on the average number of hours worked. Hours<br />

worked includes vacation, sick leave, holidays and compensatory time;<br />

you will be paid at your regular rate for all hours worked using this procedure;<br />

you will not be reimbursed for mileage under this procedure;<br />
