METO Snow Removal<br />

<strong>Management</strong> will create a list of snow removal crew members in order of State Seniority. When<br />

snow removal is necessary, the person responsible will:<br />

1. Offer the overtime to the first person on the list.<br />

2. Rotate that person to the bottom of the list after making the offer.<br />

3. Continue the process throughout the snow removal season.<br />

For MSOP and MSH Employees Only<br />

Article 6, Overtime of the Master Agreement is changed as follows:<br />

Definitions:<br />

Next (immediate subsequent) shift: The next shift includes any shift that begins within one-half<br />

(1/2) hour of the end of the current shift.<br />

Involuntary Overtime Assignment. An involuntary overtime assignment is counted when the<br />

least senior eligible employee is required by a supervisor to stay beyond the end of their regularly<br />

scheduled shift for any length of time.<br />

Assignment. If you are currently working an overtime assignment, you cannot be forced to work<br />

the next shift even if you are the least senior person.<br />

Overtime Payment: Your overtime payment begins effective the first minute worked only if you<br />

are required to stay beyond seven and one-half (7½ ) minutes.<br />

Overtime Sign Up:<br />

Next (Immediate Subsequent) Shift: You must, on a daily basis, put in writing your interest in<br />

working overtime beyond your scheduled shift.<br />

Other Than Next Shift: If you want to be offered voluntary overtime work, you must put in writing<br />

the days and shifts of each pay period you are willing to work.<br />

Distribution:<br />

For purposes of overtime only, Security Counselors and Security Counselor Leads will be<br />

considered one class and may fill behind each other.<br />

Your supervisor will assign overtime as soon as possible once the need is known.<br />

If you are prohibited from working mandatory overtime because of medical restrictions, you may<br />

not volunteer for overtime/extra hours contrary to those restrictions.<br />

If the work requiring overtime is already in progress, the employees performing the work will be<br />

assigned the overtime.<br />
