12. An employee who does not make a successful bid shall indicate his/her interest (in writing) in<br />

picking up hours which become available.<br />

Article 2<br />

Hours of Work<br />

Article 5 of the Master Agreement shall be supplemented and/or modified as follows:<br />

If the work schedule to be worked by an employee at the beginning of a new academic year is the<br />

same as the schedule worked in the preceding academic year, the fourteen (14) calendar day<br />

posting requirement of Article 5 shall not apply. The Appointing Authority, at the time of notification<br />

of the employee’s return date, shall notify those employees of any changes from that anticipated<br />

work schedule.<br />

Article 3<br />

Work Schedules<br />

If due to a change in the operation of a unit/program, it becomes necessary to permanently change<br />

the scheduling pattern of full-time employees in the interest of efficient operations, to meet the<br />

needs of the public or the Appointing Authority, to provide more beneficial student services, or to<br />

better use facilities or the working forces, no less than thirty (30) calendar days notice shall be<br />

given to the Local Union. At the request of the Local Union, the Appointing Authority shall meet<br />

and confer to develop a reasonable scheduling pattern prior to the fourteen (14) day posting period<br />

provided for in Article 5, Section 1(C) of the Master Agreement.<br />

The Appointing Authority and Local Union may mutually agree to alter the terms of the section<br />

titled "Hours of Work."<br />

Employees who voluntarily attend in service training of less than two (2) hours shall be paid only<br />

for those hours of attendance.<br />

Article 4<br />

Flextime Scheduling<br />

The Appointing Authority and the Local Union may mutually agree to a flextime scheduling plan.<br />

Article 5<br />

Permanent Layoff<br />

Article 15, Section 3, D 3 of the Master Agreement shall be modified by providing the following,<br />

additional options to employees who receive notice of permanent layoff:<br />

1. Bump the least senior employee in the same insurance eligible status within the same work<br />

area or the seniority unit; or,<br />

2. Bump the least senior employee in a different insurance eligibility status within the work area or<br />

the seniority unit.<br />

Employees on permanent layoff may be appointed to an intermittent, temporary or emergency<br />

position; such appointment shall not be considered a recall.<br />

Seasonal Layoff<br />

Article 15, Section 4B of the Master Agreement shall be supplemented and/or modified as follows:<br />
