Overnight Activities<br />

For all employees at Juvenile Facilities, the total compensation granted employees assigned to<br />

overnight activities which include the supervision of residents/inmates when such assignments are<br />

twenty-four (24) consecutive hours shall be sixteen (16) hours of straight time for each twenty-four<br />

(24) hour period, except as it conflicts with state or federal law.<br />

Article 3<br />

Holidays<br />

Article 7 shall be supplemented and/or modified as follows for Units 2, 3, 4, 6 and 7:<br />

Section 3. Substitute Holidays. An Appointing Authority may designate substitute days or<br />

floating holidays for the observance of Veteran’s Day, President’s Day, the day after Thanksgiving,<br />

Memorial Day and Labor Day with the agreement of the Local Union at least thirty (30) days in<br />

advance of such change.<br />

Article 4<br />

Leaves of Absence<br />

Article 10 of the Master Agreement shall be modified/supplemented as follows:<br />

Hostage Leave<br />

The Employer and the Union agree that under Article 18, Section 10, Injured on Duty Pay, persons<br />

employed in a correctional institution who suffer a disabling injury as a direct result of a lifethreatening<br />

hostage incident, who otherwise meet the stated criteria contained therein, may be<br />

authorized by the Appointing Authority for injury on duty pay on the basis of psychological or<br />

mental illness suffered therein without demonstration of physical injury.<br />

An Appointing Authority may require the employee to be examined by a psychiatrist, physician or<br />

other qualified medical practitioner to verify the employee's medical condition, need for such time<br />

off, and the length of time needed. In no case shall injury on duty pay extend beyond two-hundred<br />

forty (240) hours.<br />

Military Leave<br />

Employees who are Guard/Reserve members shall be allowed to work their regular days off and<br />

use the time to attend military drill weekends. When possible, notice of orders will be given to the<br />

supervisor fourteen (14) days in advance and orders will be submitted when available.<br />

Article 5<br />

Vacancies, Filling of Positions<br />

Article 12 of the Master Agreement shall be supplemented and/or modified as follows:<br />

Work Areas<br />

Adult correctional facilities shall establish more than one work area for Unit 6 employees.<br />

Required Probationary Period<br />

If the Appointing Authority feels that an extension of the probationary period could result in<br />

successful completion of the probationary period, the Appointing Authority and the Local Union<br />

may agree to an extension not to exceed three (3) months.<br />
