a. Bump the least senior employee in the same class (or class option or another class<br />

option within that class for which the employee is determined by the Employer to be<br />

qualified) and the same shift within his/her work area within thirty-five (35) miles of the<br />

employee's current work location (employee must be position-qualified if Unit 6). This<br />

bumped employee shall bump the least senior employee in the work area within thirtyfive<br />

(35) miles of the employee's current work location regardless of shift (employee<br />

must be position-qualified if Unit 6); or<br />

b. Accept a vacancy in the same class (or class option or another class option within that<br />

class for which the employee is determined by the Employer to be qualified) within<br />

thirty-five (35) miles of the employee's current work location (employee must be<br />

position-qualified if Unit 6); or<br />

c. Accept a vacancy within thirty-five (35) miles of the employee's current work location in<br />

an equal class in which the employee previously served (employee must be positionqualified<br />

if Unit 6).<br />

2. If options “1b” and “1c” above are not available, and the employee chooses not to accept<br />

option "1a", or option "1a" is not available, the employee shall either:<br />

a. Bump the least senior employee in the same class (or class option or another class<br />

option within that class for which the employee is determined by the Employer to be<br />

qualified) within thirty-five (35) miles of the employee's current work location (employee<br />

must be position-qualified if Unit 6); or,<br />

b. Accept a vacancy in an equal class in which the employee has not previously served<br />

and for which the employee is determined by the Employer to be qualified and within<br />

thirty-five (35) miles of the employee's current work location (employee must be<br />

position-qualified if Unit 6).<br />

3. If neither "2a" nor "2b" above is available or if only "2a" above is available, the employee<br />

may choose any of the following options:<br />

a. Layoff.<br />

b. Vacancy Within Thirty-Five (35) Miles. Accept a vacancy in a lower class in which<br />

the employee has previously served or for which the employee is determined to be<br />

qualified by the Employer within thirty-five (35) miles of the employee's current work<br />

location (employee must be position-qualified if Unit 6);<br />

c. Vacancy Outside Thirty-Five (35) Miles.<br />

(1) Same/Equal Class. Accept a vacancy in the same class (or class option or another<br />

class option within that class for which the employee is determined to be qualified by<br />

the Employer), or in an equal class in which the employee has previously served or<br />

for which the employee is determined to be qualified by the Employer more than<br />

thirty-five (35) miles of the employee's current work location (employee must be<br />

position-qualified if Unit 6);<br />

(2) Lower Class. Accept a vacancy in a lower class in which the employee has<br />

previously served or for which the employee is determined to be qualified by the<br />

Employer more than thirty-five (35) miles of the employee's current work location<br />

(employee must be position-qualified if Unit 6);<br />
