shows a youthful god rid<strong>in</strong>g from left to right. His long hair is bound by a strophion, <strong>in</strong><br />

the front of which are stuck two little clusters of ivy-berries. Across his chest is slung a<br />

neliris. On his feet are Thracian boots. Be<strong>in</strong>g <strong>in</strong> a festive mood, he grasps with his right<br />

hand the beard of a goat-footed Pan, who follows his master, hang<strong>in</strong>g on <strong>in</strong> true Greek<br />

fashion to the horse's tail. In the background is a huge v<strong>in</strong>e with two small v<strong>in</strong>tagers <strong>in</strong><br />

its branches. One of these holds out a big bunch of grapes to the god as he passes by.<br />

Old Silenos <strong>in</strong> a tufted costume, with his chiton knotted round his waist, dangles a bunch<br />

<strong>in</strong> his right hand and raises a reap<strong>in</strong>g-hook <strong>in</strong> his left to gather a second. Under the<br />

horse is seen a panther, half-hidden by the v<strong>in</strong>e. The slab is <strong>in</strong>scribed K\ai'5iav6s llvppoi<br />
