The double axes of Tenedos 66i<br />

represents Dionysos dt<strong>in</strong>orphos^, the 'two-formed,' or perhaps rather<br />

Dionysos and Ariadne. Other considerations too might be urged<br />

<strong>in</strong> favour of Dionysos. An Attic black-figured amphora depicts that<br />

div<strong>in</strong>ity as a bearded figure seated on a bull with a dr<strong>in</strong>k<strong>in</strong>g-horn<br />
