somewhat boorish mediums. No dignity can be recognized to them. This
contempt, deeply rooted in french cultural tradition since centuries, is most
often not even conscious. But we think it is the main obstacle for any progress
in integration of those "other" french languages in the mainstream of national
french culture. One may hope that in the long course, a better knowledge of
french diversity and minority languages' s creative capacity will permit to end
with the long-lasting time of contempt. But for now, this happy end is obviously
not at hand... And the fight for dignity and life of breton, occitan, and all the
others is still necessary.
