DETERMINACIÓN PRELIMINAR DE PARÁMETROS DE CRECIMIENTO Y MORTALIDADNATURAL DE Genypterus brasiliensis (PISCES, OPHIDIIFORMES) DEL SURESTE Y SURDE BRASIL, A TRAVÉS DE MÉTODOS EMPÍRICOSVelasco G., Tomás A.R.G. & Petrere M. Jr.Universida<strong>de</strong> Fe<strong>de</strong>ral do Rio Gran<strong>de</strong> (FURG), Brazil. gonzalo_vc@yahoo.comEl aba<strong>de</strong>jo o congrio rosado brasileño, Genypterus brasiliensis Regan, 1903, se distribuye <strong>de</strong>s<strong>de</strong> Rio <strong>de</strong> Janeiro (~23°lat. S) hasta el extremo sur <strong>de</strong> Brasil, ocurriendo en aguas uruguayas y norte-argentinas cuando la masa <strong>de</strong> aguatropical se <strong>de</strong>splaza hacia el sur, en verano. Visto que todavía eran <strong>de</strong>sconocidos los parámetros <strong>de</strong> crecimiento ymortalidad natural, éstos fueron estimados <strong>de</strong> forma empírica para servir como semilla en análisis cuantitativasposteriores. A partir <strong>de</strong> los datos <strong>de</strong> largo total máximo observado en los <strong>de</strong>sembarques <strong>de</strong>l Sureste y Sur <strong>de</strong> Brasil(Lmax = 110 y 147 cm respectivamente), se estimó el tamaño asintótico o infinito según la transformación <strong>de</strong> Taylor,resultando L∞ = 115,8 y 154,7 cm respectivamente. Con estos valores y un valor promedio <strong>de</strong>l estimador <strong>de</strong>performance <strong>de</strong> crecimiento (Φ\'=3,30 año-1*cm) calculado a partir <strong>de</strong> parámetros <strong>de</strong> crecimiento <strong>de</strong>l congénere G.blaco<strong>de</strong>s, se obtuvieron estimadores <strong>de</strong> la constante <strong>de</strong> crecimiento <strong>de</strong>l mo<strong>de</strong>lo <strong>de</strong> crecimiento <strong>de</strong> von Bertalanffy K= 0,15 y 0,08 año-1, respectivamente. La tasa instantánea <strong>de</strong> mortalidad natural fue estimada por el método <strong>de</strong> Paulycon el dato <strong>de</strong> temperatura <strong>de</strong>l agua <strong>de</strong> 13 °C, resultando M = 0,248 año-1 en el Sureste, y 0,152 año-1 en el Sur. En este trabajo damos a conocer la presencia <strong>de</strong> ácaros parásitos sobre Parejera Philodryas patagoniensisobtenidos en necropsias realizadas a 11 animales, en su mayoría hallados muertos en carreteras <strong>de</strong> diferentes<strong>de</strong>partamentos <strong>de</strong>l país, entre los años 2002 y 2009. Los ácaros fueron colectados manualmente sobre las Parejerasmediante visualización directa y con ayuda <strong>de</strong> lupa estereoscópica, colocados en alcohol 70% y posteriormentemontados entre láminas utilizando líquido <strong>de</strong> Hoyer. El ácaro hallado con más frecuencia, en 6 (54%) <strong>de</strong> las Parejerasexaminadas, fue Ixobioi<strong>de</strong>s butantanensis (Mesostigmata: Ixodorhynchidae), ectoparásito que se halla <strong>de</strong>bajo <strong>de</strong> lasescamas, siendo más abundante en la región anterior ventral. Fue <strong>de</strong>terminado en Parejeras <strong>de</strong> los <strong>de</strong>partamentos<strong>de</strong> Artigas, Durazno y Paysandú. Hasta el momento I. butantanensis había sido <strong>de</strong>terminada para Brasil, Chile yVenezuela. Los restantes dos taxones <strong>de</strong> ácaros fueron hallados solamente en una Parejera proveniente <strong>de</strong>l<strong>de</strong>partamento <strong>de</strong> Artigas. Se i<strong>de</strong>ntificó a Pneumophionyssus sp. (Mesostigmata: Pneumophionyssidae), un géneroque es parásito pulmonar <strong>de</strong> culebras y <strong>de</strong>l cual sólo se conocen dos especies, P. aristoterisi <strong>de</strong> Brasil y P. jellisoni <strong>de</strong>Argentina. También se hallaron numerosas larvas <strong>de</strong> Trombiculidae gen sp. (Prostigmata), las cuales se encontrabandistribuidas por todo el cuerpo en pequeñas agrupaciones. De los trescérvidos autóctonos vivientes en Uruguay es el más abundante, ya que <strong>de</strong> las otras dos especies, Blastocerusdichotomus se consi<strong>de</strong>ra extinto <strong>de</strong>s<strong>de</strong> mediados <strong>de</strong>l siglo pasado, y Ozotoceros bezoarticus sobrevive en dospoblaciones naturales relictuales. A diferencia <strong>de</strong> O. bezoarticus que cuenta con varios registros <strong>de</strong> endo yectoparásitos en Uruguay, los <strong>de</strong> M. gouazoubira son escasos. Entre ellos figuran las garrapatas Ixo<strong>de</strong>s pararicinus(citada como I. ricinus rochensis), Haemaphysalis juxtakochi y Amblyomma aureolatum y el díptero Lipoptenamazamae. Durante una necropsia realizada en junio <strong>de</strong> 2009 a un guazubirá macho adulto proveniente <strong>de</strong>l ParqueSalus, Departamento <strong>de</strong> Lavalleja, que presentaba estado caquéctico, fractura con absceso en el maxilar inferior y uncuadro <strong>de</strong> neumonía, se recolectaron un importante número <strong>de</strong> artrópodos y <strong>de</strong> helmintos. Los parásitosi<strong>de</strong>ntificados fueron los siguientes: Artrópodos: Garrapatas: Ixo<strong>de</strong>s pararicinus y Haemaphysalis juxtakochi (Ixodidae);Dípteros: Lipoptena mazamae (Hippoboscidae); Piojos Anopluros: Solenopotes binipilosus (Linognathidae). Helmintos:Céstodos: Moniezia bene<strong>de</strong>ni (Anoplocephalidae) y Cysticercus tenuicollis (Taeniidae); Nemátodos: Haemonchus sp.,Ostertagia ostertagi, Trichostrongylus axei, T. colubriformis, Cooperia punctata (Trichostrongylidae) yOesophagostomum sp. (Strongylidae). A<strong>de</strong>más, la anatomía patológica <strong>de</strong>l corazón reveló la presencia <strong>de</strong> quistes <strong>de</strong>lprotozoo Sarcocystis sp. en miocardio. El animal presentaba una elevada carga parasitaria, principalmente <strong>de</strong>ectoparásitos, lo cual es probable que se <strong>de</strong>ba a su mal estado inmunitario por las patologías que presentaba. Esinteresante que mientras que los ectoparásitos correspon<strong>de</strong>n a especies propias <strong>de</strong>l guazubirá o <strong>de</strong> cérvidossudamericanos, la totalidad <strong>de</strong> los taxones <strong>de</strong> metazoos endoparásitos son propios <strong>de</strong> rumiantes domésticos.Solenopotes binipilosus y todos los helmintos, así como el protozoo Sarcocystis sp., correspon<strong>de</strong>n a nuevos registrospara M. gouazoubira en Uruguay.FAUNA PARASITARIA DEL BIGUÁ, Phalacrocorax brasilianus (GMELIN, 1789) (AVES:PHALACROCORACIDAE) EN LA ZONA DE LA REPRESA DE SALTO GRANDE. Se observa todo elaño, aunque la mayoría <strong>de</strong> los ejemplares provienen <strong>de</strong> colonias <strong>de</strong> nidificación <strong>de</strong> países vecinos. Su dieta secompone principalmente <strong>de</strong> peces, aunque también ingieren moluscos, crustáceos e insectos. En octubre <strong>de</strong> 2009,con el permiso <strong>de</strong>l Departamento <strong>de</strong> Fauna (MGAP), fueron colectados 14 biguás para estudios <strong>de</strong> dieta en lasproximida<strong>de</strong>s <strong>de</strong> la represa <strong>de</strong> Salto Gran<strong>de</strong>. A 10 <strong>de</strong> ellos se les realizaron necropsias con el fin <strong>de</strong> colectar susparásitos. En Uruguay, los parásitos citados para P. brasilianus hasta el momento son Contracaecum caballeroi, C.travassosi y Echinuria sp. (probablemente Syncuaria sp.). En este trabajo, todos los biguás analizados se encontrabanparasitados como mínimo por cuatro géneros. A continuación se presentan los taxones parasitarios hallados y sulocalización en el hospedador. Digenea: Ribeiroia ondatrae, proventrículo; Drepanocephalus spathans, intestino<strong>de</strong>lgado y grueso; Austrodiplostomum compactum, intestino <strong>de</strong>lgado y grueso; Heterophyidae gen. sp., intestinogrueso. Nematoda: Contracaecum sp., esófago y proventrículo; Eucoleus sp., esófago; Ornithocapillaria sp., intestinogrueso; Syngamus sp., tráquea; Tetrameres sp., proventrículo (hembras <strong>de</strong>ntro <strong>de</strong> las criptas <strong>de</strong> Lieberkhün).Cestoda: Paradilepis sp., intestino <strong>de</strong>lgado. Phthiraptera: Pectinopygus gyroceras, piel y plumas. A excepción <strong>de</strong>Contracaecum, todos los parásitos hallados son nuevos registros para P. brasilianus en Uruguay.
