3. This exercise offers both a learning and a creativity opportunity. After you’ve evaluated the<br />

"cool sites", brainstorm what you learned and how it applies to your site. What ideas did<br />

you come away with that might be applicable to your site?<br />

After researching and getting a better understanding of what it takes to be a "cool site", plan<br />

how you will promote your site to the selecting sites. Make sure that your approach to them<br />

emphasizes exactly the characteristics that the "cool sites" share.<br />

Learning to Become a "Cool Site"<br />

1) Study "cool" sites for ideas what you can do to improve the chances that your site will be<br />

selected.<br />

2) Visit the list of cool site selectors at the <strong>Web</strong>site Promoters Resource Center.<br />

3) Starting with these well-known sites, begin your research by visiting and analyzing their<br />

selections. You may want to complete a Site Evaluation Form for each cool site visited:<br />
