Many of the techniques for maximizing results are based on your ability to analyze web<br />

traffic to your site. These are several of the most important statistics you should know:<br />

How many people visit your site?<br />

What are your most popular pages?<br />

Where did the visitors come from ?<br />

How did they find out about your site?<br />

What type of browser of they using?<br />

Completing the Worksheet for Maximizing Results from Classified Ads<br />

A great thing about online classified ads is that many are free or entail minimum cost. You<br />

can afford to test until you hit on the right combination. Testing is the key to maximizing the<br />

results from your ads.<br />

1.Headings: Select several different categories under which you expect your target<br />

audience to find you. Decide how long your ad will run before changing it. If the site<br />

lets you place multiple postings – same ad, different headings. This is a good way to<br />

increase exposure, thus generate more traffic to your web site.<br />

2.Headlines: Headlines are so important to generating interest in your ad, test a number of<br />

headlines to see which draws the most traffic – the right kind of traffic; i.e., from your<br />

target audience. Brainstorm several possible headlines. When you’ve identified the most<br />

effective one, brainstorm several more. Keep trying to find the headline that outdoes the<br />

"reigning headline champ".<br />

3.Body: Keep testing the body of your ad. Re-work the lead-in sentence and the rest of<br />

the body of your ad.<br />

4.Offering: Change the offer that entices visitors to your site: free report, FAQ, contest,<br />

discount, etc.<br />

5.Ad Locations: Test different classified ad sites. Some will be more effective than others<br />

at getting your ad before a large number of net users.<br />
