It may be worth your time to look for other unmoderated, busy newsgroups to add to this
list. What you have to ask yourself is how much time do you want to spend posting to
general newsgroups? You could conceivably find hundreds of newsgroups that you could
post your announcement to but like registering a web site in Lesson 2, the law of
diminishing return may apply. Your time would be better spent focusing on finding target
audiences in the next exercise. You can always add to your list of general groups later after
you’ve completed the rest of the lessons in this guidebook.

to community rather than promotional hype.
2.Net-Happenings: Post at this web site. Consider subscribing to the mailing list for a get
acquainted period.
3.Yahoo: Follow Yahoo links to research more announcement sites starting at
http://www.yahoo.com, then "Computer & Internet" to "WWW" to "Announcement
Services."
4.Comp.newprod: Announce a new product or service at this newsgroup.
5.New Page List: Submit your new page announcement at
http://web-star.com/newpage/newpage.html.
6.Net Announce (part of All-in-One-Promotion) at http://www.erspros.com/net-announce sends
an email announcement of your site to those who request it.
7.Email Announce at http://www.EmailAnnounce.com.
8.The DirectoryGuide: http://www.directoryguide.com/
9."Announce" newsgroups: With all newsgroups showing in your newsreader, search for
groups with "announce" in the name. Post to the ones that seem appropriate. Be ready to
customize your announcement for a better "fit".
