Exercise 3-7 -- Preparing a Discussion Group Evaluation Report
It’s important to maintain a report of where you posted and an assessment of each group for
future postings. This report will serve as a valuable database for deciding which groups you
want to join in on the discussions. In Lesson 7 you will use this report for selecting in which
groups you want to participate. If you have a boss or client, this report comes in handy as a
record of your activities. It demonstrates how organized and how thorough you are.
In this exercise, list the newsgroups you selected for your announcements. In the next
exercise you will add the mailing lists that received your announcement. You may want to
maintain a separate report for the general announcement groups in Exercise 3-4.
Completing the Evaluation Report
For now just complete the first two columns. The remainder of the report will be completed
in Exercise 7-2.
1.Name of Group: Record the name of the group. Even if you don’t subscribe to the
group, the name will make it easy for you to find it in a list of all newsgroups.
2.Date Posted: Record the date you announced in the group.
