Questions to ask them before deciding if that is the route you want to take:<br />

Can you choose which sites will host your ad?<br />

Do you have veto power over ads at your site?<br />

How many clients does the company have?<br />

Who administers ad rotations?<br />

Will they help you design your banner ad?<br />

Will you get meaningful traffic statistics?<br />

Sponsoring content in mailing lists and newsletters is becoming popular. Sponsoring content<br />

has some advantages over banner ads:<br />

Promotional messages look nearly the same as the contents being sponsored so they<br />

aren’t as easily overlooked as banner ads by subscribers.<br />

Your ad may be inserted more than once, often somewhere in the middle, not<br />

necessarily at the beginning or end.<br />

Mailing lists and newsletters are proactive e-mail, not passively like a banner ad.<br />

Sponsored contented comes as close as you can get to guaranteed multiple exposure.<br />

People who read a discussion list or newsletter are generally more interested in the<br />

subject than web visitors.<br />
