Drawings / Images: (Refer to Appendix A) Objectives: BAA: This refurbishment project is part of a £68M programme of expenditure to refurbish Terminal 3, partly driven through asset replacement, and partly through airline relocations. The aim is to brighten and lift the overall space in line with T5 design standards, to improve passenger flow throughout, and to provide a facility that can support the UKBA in improving service standards. This will include but is not limited to: • replacement floor, wall, and ceiling finishes to all passenger facing areas • increased & flexible queuing maze with increased capacity • T5 standard staggered immigration desks • optimised way-finding & improved signage • reduced congestion in the ‘decision-zone’ HAL Minor Projects are refurbishing toilets and airconditioning throughout to provide a complete and consistent refurbishment product General arrangement of Option C. The refurbishment will provide a significantly enhanced passenger and user experience and will support the airline relocation programme and the relocation of oneworld to Terminal 3. This will be achieved by: • Easing congestion whilst improving passenger way-finding and orientation; • Improving utilisation of space for passengers and airline support facilities; • Improving access and egress links; • Modernising the appearance consistent with the BAA design palette; • Where appropriate, provision of high-quality lighting and surfaces to receive lighting.
