James says, "Simeon [St. Peter] hath declaredhow God at the first [in the conversion orCornelius] did visit the Gentiles to take out ofthem a people for His name [the Bride of Christ].And to this agree the words of the Prophets[Amos 9:11, 12]; as it is written, After this [afterthe Bride of Christ has been selected], I willreturn and will build again the tabernacle [thehouse, royalty or dominion] of David, which isfallen down; and I will build again the ruinsthereof, and I will set it up [re-establish theKingdom of God on earth]; that the residue ofmen [all the rest of the world of mankind] mightseek after the Lord, and all the Gentiles, uponwhom My name is called, saith the Lord whodoeth all these things. Known unto God are allHis works from the beginning of the world."(15) Obadiah was the next one of the holyProphets; and in the last verse of his shortprophecy he says, "And saviors [it is in the pluraland refers not only to Jesus the Head, but to theChurch, the members of His Body] shall comeup on Mount Zion [come up into the Heavenlyphase of the Kingdom], and shall judge themount of Esau" [judge the world]. "Know ye notthat the saints shall judge the world!"(16) Jonah was the next one of the holyProphets; and in the fourth chapter we have aninteresting picture of events now transpiringbefore our eyes.
