In 1879 Charles Taze Russell began the publicationof THE WATCH TOWER, of which he was the soleeditor as long as he remained on earth. THE WATCHTOWER was, and is, the first and only journaldeclaring the presence of the Lord Jesus. PastorRussell being the messenger to the LaodiceanChurch, and occupying the position of the Lord'sspecial servant to give the Household or Faith meat indue season, it was to be expected that he would bringforth from the Lord's great "Storehouse" the neededspiritual food for the Church, in harmony withFM5God's will. By the Lord's grace he wrote the sixvolumes of STUDIES IN THE SCRIPTURES, whichwritings, aside from the Bible, have gladdened morehearts and thrilled Christians with greater hope andjoyful expectation than have any other writingsextant. These books have been properly designated"Keys to the Divine Plan of the Ages." These "keys"have been placed in the hands of thousands ofChristian people throughout the world, and haveenabled them to unlock the Lord's Treasure-house,the Bible, and there to see some of the "treasures ofwisdom" and knowledge of God! Some have beenable to use these "keys" more effectually than haveothers. "God hath set the members in the Body as ithath pleased Him."Time and again Pastor Russell said that the SeventhVolume of STUDIES IN THE SCRIPTURES wouldbe written; and it was expected that he would write it.The Scriptures show that the Seventh Volume mustbe published. Pastor Russell passed from the earth,and the Seventh Volume remained unpublished. Inhis last moments he said, "Some one else can writethe Seventh Volume." For any one to arrogate tohimself the authority to write and publish the SeventhVolume would, we believe, seem presumptuousbefore the Lord.Whom, then, would the Lord have to write it?Pastor Russell was a man of unusual modesty. Greatmen usually are modest. The examination of thecontents of this book will disclose the fact that itdeals with Revelation and Ezekiel; that the Lord longago caused to be recorded therein, in symboliclanguage, a history of the Church, particularly theclosing earthly experiences thereof; and therein setforth that He would uncover the many frauds,
