Millennium. It is the Day of Vengeance, whichbegan in the world war of 1914 and which willbreak like a furious morning storm in 1918.—Lam. 4:18.Ezekiel 7:7-9.The morning is come unto thee, O thou thatdwellest in the land: the time is come, the dayof trouble is near, and not the sounding againof the mountains.FM405Now will I shortly pour out My fury uponthee, and accomplish Mine anger upon thee;and I will judge thee according to thy ways,and will recompense thee for all thineabominations. And Mine eye shall not spare,neither will I have pity; I will recompense theeaccording to thy ways and thine abominationsthat are in the midst of thee; and ye shallknow that I am the Lord that smiteth.— Thechiefest sufferers will be those setting affectionson earthly things, earth dwellers and earth lovers.Steep mountain valleys are full of echoingsounds, falling trees, dislodged rocks,avalanches, landslides, waterfalls, or thethunders of local storms. Earth's nations havebeen resounding for centuries with local wars,seditions, revolutions, famine and pestilence.(A318.) These passed away; but the presentcommotion and impending revolution andanarchy will not cease, but will spread andincrease until this order of things is destroyed.Ezekiel 7:10.Behold the Day, behold it is come: theMorning is gone forth; the rod hathblossomed, pride hath budded.— "Pride goethbefore destruction." (Prov. 16:18.) Human pride[among kaisers, clergy, labor leaders, andcapitalists], has budded, blossomed forth intoacts that will bring destruction. The rod is asymbol of authority. Organized authority isperverted from its Divinely appointed function ofrestraint and punishment of crime into a ruthlessrule or might and bloodshed.
