According toEzekiel 45:2 the exterior wall is around a squareof 500 cubits, and by 42:16-20 it is 500 reeds, or3,000 cubits square; but the latter is translated"cubits" in the Septuagint, and the former agreesminutely with the internal measurements. Aboutthe outer court of 500 cubits square will be aborder or suburb 50 cubits wide to separate theSanctuary from the surrounding land. (Ezek.42:20.) <strong>The</strong> outer court types the condition of theAncient Worthies and of the Hebrews and theworld of mankind, the former of actually perfecthumanity, and the latter of a perfect heartcondition and striving toward human perfection.This court will be at an elevation above thesurrounding land and will be reached by sevensteps, symbolizing the human perfection, actualor heart, of those that enter the court. It will besurrounded by a wall one reed high and a reedthick. <strong>The</strong> wall types Christ in the AncientWorthies, who will constitute the embodiment ofthe Divinely appointed wall of faith about theSanctuary. <strong>The</strong> reed indicates the full measure ofthe Divine Word as regards the human nature.—Ezek. 40:6, 17-19, 22-23, 26, 34; 42:1, 7-9, 14-20; 43:1-5; 44:1-3, 19; 45:1-2; 46:19-24.Inner Court<strong>The</strong> inner court will be an enclosure toward therear or west of the outer court, 200 cubits wide
