Protocols in Power Generation 29-7
29.4 Conclusions
In this chapter, an overview of specific requirements and communication protocols that are used in
power generation automation and information systems are presented. Safety characteristics are among
the strongest requirements that need to be taken into account in the design of communication system
architecture. With the development of Internet-based communication protocols in industrial systems,
cyber security constitutes an important issue that needs to be considered at present and in the future in
the industrial information systems.
