The SCL-language is based on eXtensible markup language (XML). Figure 59.8 shows an extract from
an SCL file. It describes the logical node CSWI1 where only the mandatory data attributes are shown.
59.6 Different Types of DER
59.6.1 Wind Power Plants
The specific extensions of the IEC 61850 for wind power plants are standardized in the IEC 61400-25
[Win]. Logical nodes are defined for many automation functions in wind turbines. Examples for such
LNs are shown in Table 59.3.
59.6.2 Hydropower Plants
In the IEC 61850-410, specific control functions are defined for hydropower plant systems [Sta2].
Specific LN classes are defined, for instance, for reservoirs, dams, and water turbines. Examples for such
LNs are shown in Table 59.4.
