MYANMAR Myanmar Radio has three different px in period 1000-1300+ UT<br />

plus the Defence Forces stn on 5770 kHz, all hrd in period Aug 13-20:<br />

5770 Defence Forces BC; hrd 0630-0730+ and 1230-1430 UT.<br />

5915 Myanmar Radio; the weakest of all QRGs, probably not 50 kW; hrd<br />

0915-1315 UT, mostly music, but always diff from other QRGs.<br />

5985 Myanmar Radio; s/on tent 0930 hrd to 1500+ UT, no English at 1400,<br />

1430 or 1500 UT !<br />

7200 Myanmar Radio; s/on 1005-1008 UT after close-down of 9730 kHz,<br />

observed daily, to approx 1300 UT.<br />

9730 Myanmar Radio; Aug 19 at 0308 UT English nx read by fem voice to<br />

0314 UT "That is the end of International news" into English & Burmese pop<br />

mx.<br />

Aug 20 at 0700 UT "This is Myanmar Radio with our second English<br />

transmission", giving metres rather than kHz; local news about election<br />

preparation, 0704 UT international nx, 0705 UT weather, 0707 UT slogans by<br />

fem voice about peace & stability, 0708 UT "This is Myanmar Radio<br />

presenting you lovely mx" into English pops, 0730 UT end of txm annct;<br />

daily Burmese px to 0958 UT, when cl-down annct by fem voice giving metres<br />

and kHz, silent carrier to 1005 UT when switching to 7200 kHz.<br />

NETH ANTILLES [BONAIRE] Amateur Radio DXpedition to operate from<br />

facilities, Antennas of RNW BONAIRE.<br />

The dissolution of the Netherlands Antilles in October will, per the rules<br />

of the ARRL, create several new radio "countries" for the purposes of<br />

award counting. Accordingly, a large-scale amateur radio DXpedition to<br />

Bonaire is planning to take to the airwaves as soon as the results of the<br />

referendum become official on Oct 10th.<br />

With 6 locations around the island, there should be plenty of opportunity<br />

for a QSO. However, our premiere location is that of the short-wave<br />

transmitter site, Radio Netherlands. Bonaire is home to a large relay<br />

station and its <strong>im</strong>pressive aerial park which provi<strong>de</strong>s up to 21 dBd gain.<br />
