You will be pleased to hear that the RNW frequency is changing to 6140 kHz<br />

as we have in<strong>de</strong>ed had a number of reports of interference in the target<br />

area. I think the change is happening tonight, but if not it will<br />

<strong>de</strong>finitely happen tomorrow (30th April).<br />

NIGERIA Schedule changes of Voice of Nigeria, Abuja.<br />

Here is the latest announcement ma<strong>de</strong> at the start of Voice of Nigeria's<br />

"This Week on VON" at 1005 UTC on Sunday 25 April 2010 (listening online<br />

at ):<br />

"Broadcasts of programmes in English from this station can be heard on<br />

three frequencies: 15120 kHz in the 19 metre-band to North Africa and<br />

Europe, and 9690 kHz in the 31 metre-band to West Africa, and 7255 kHz in<br />

the 41 metre-band also to West Africa.<br />

T<strong>im</strong>es of broadcasts on 15120 kHz are from 04.55 UT to 7 hours UT for the<br />

first segment, and 15 hours UT to 19 hours UT for the second segment.<br />

And for 9690 kHz programmes run from 9 hours UT to 15 hours UT.<br />

On 7255 kHz programmes are broadcast from 19 hours UT to 20 hours UT."<br />

This still doesn't seem to completely match what is actually being heard<br />

on shortwave, but maybe it will settle down when all of the new<br />

transmitters are on air.<br />

PAKISTAN Radio Pakistan Pushto service was monitored from 1345-1445 UT<br />

followed by Dari broadcast from 1445-1545 UT on 6235 kHz. Later on Persian<br />

service was monitored from 1700-1800 UT on 6235 kHz. The signal for Pushto<br />

and Dari broadcasts was reasonable and transmitter hum was higher than<br />

usual. While the signal for Persian language broadcast at 1700-1800 UT was<br />

good. SINPO was 45433 and the transmitter was API-3.<br />
