0951-... UT, 06 Nov'10, Arabic/reg. prgr, not "Al Idaa Al Watania", which
was being aired via 207 kHz LW, Ar. musuic, news bulletin at 1000 UT,
talks; synchronised & with the same modulation as on 540 kHz Tahadart, so
1080 kHz is probably its 2nd harmonic... and the story does not end here:
2160 SNRT, 1114-..., 07 Nov'10, Arabic/reg. prgr, talks; presumably, the
3rd harm. of 540 kHz Tahadart; 15341, a rating that's even a bit
forgiving.
15345.15v RTM/RTV Marocaine via Nador site, S=1, tiny weak broadcast at
1636 UT Nov 18. Usual set on ODD channel.
MYANMAR 5985.0 Myanma Radio, at 1430 UT on Nov 18. In vernacular, with
indigenous music. On Nov 15 also noted them on 5985.0 kHz at 1321 UT, but
by 1329 UT they had switched transmitter sites and were again on their
normal 5985.83 kHz.
Have seen a number of reports recently indicating that the Myanmar off
frequency transmitter is located at Naypyidaw (also spelled Nay Pyi Taw or
Nay Pyi Daw, take you pick). Believe that is wrong. Think it is generally
agreed that the off frequency one is the old transmitter located at the
former capital, Yangon, and that the exact frequency transmitter that I
heard today is the newer one located at the new capital, Naypyidaw.
(Ron Howard-CA-USA, dxld Nov 18)
Rather belatedly, below is the schedule I monitored for Myanmar in Sept
2010. I agree that the off-channel SW frequencies are probably from Yangon
site.
There are actually two off-channel units, as both are on air from 0830-
1000 UT (5986v and 9731v kHz). It's possible that the third "on-channel"
SW transmitter in Yangon (otherwise on 7200 kHz for two parts of the day)
is used on 5985 kHz occasionally in place of the off-channel unit during
early mornings and late evenings.
