Public Broadcasters asked to shut down AM transmitters.
KEF, the body responsible for determining the financial needs of the
public broadcasters in Germany, asks both Deutschlandradio and ARD member
institutions to close down LW, MW and SW transmitters. They expect
statements on this subject for a meeting in September. KEF will audit if
the continued operation of these transmitters is still economical.
which I understand is a copy of a KEF release, issued today. It otherwise
deals with new requests for DAB+ projects, which have generally been
accepted, in particular Deutschlandradio is now authorized to start
negotiations with Media Broadcast. They are expected to report the results
in September, and in preparation for the next full-scale KEF report, to be
issued in 2013, KEF will audit if these projects are still economical.
In particular the Deutschlandradio project has to be coordinated with DAB+
projects of ARD and commercial broadcasters, and the Deutschlandradio DAB
transmitter network is to be rolled out only at sites that will be used by
ARD institutions, too, a measure KEF expects to cut back the operational
costs (and which makes it quite likely that full coverage of Germany will
never be achieved).

ARD Publikationen. Uebrigens das gedruckte Monatsheft SWR (frueher SDR
Stuttgart und SWF Baden-Baden Hefte) Magazine wurde im Juni eingestellt.
War mir 40 Jahre ein Begleiter, jetzt bleiben noch das WDR Print, HR
Frankfurt, DLF-DLR Programmheft und das monatliche Heft vom
Saarlaendischen Rundfunk uebrig.

Open Day - Bayerischer Rundfunk Sender Muenchen Ismaning, July 10, 2010
Senderanlage Ismaning. Sammlerboerse fuer Radio-Liebhaber.
Der Bayerische Rundfunk laedt Fans alter Roehren-Radios, Schellacks und
sonstiger Raritaeten der Funkgeschichte am 10. Juli zu einer Sammlerboerse
in die BR-Senderanlage Ismaning ein. Die letzte Veranstaltung dieser Art
ist zwei Jahre her - hoechste Zeit fuer eine Neuauflage.
Die Sammlerboerse - gleichzeitig ein Treff von Gleichgesinnten, die hier
prima fachsimpeln koennen - wird wie in den vergangenen Jahren gemeinsam
mit der Gesellschaft der Freunde des Funkwesens (GFGF e.V.) veranstaltet
und findet an der Garagenhalle der Senderanlage Ismaning des Bayerischen
Rundfunks statt.
Eigenes Hoerfunkprogramm fuer Radiofans. Selbstverstaendlich wird auch
heuer wieder ein im engsten Umkreis um die Senderanlage empfangbares
Sonderprogramm ueber einen kleinen Mittelwellen-Ortssender auf 585 kHz
waehrend der Veranstaltung ausgestrahlt.
