1200-1357 17735 S=7 at 1355 UT, 130degr?
a n d
17740 little stronger S=8 at 1355 UT, 180degr?
At 1200 UT 1000 Hz tone til 1201:40 UT, July 13.
July 14
Only tx carrier noted at 1200 UT on both channels, Swahili
program missed.
Programmes start never exact on the hour, rather
1-4 minutes later.
At 1211:56 only two seconds long program feed modulated,
than program break again til now 1321 UT, July 14.
Co-channel QRM 17735 by YFR UAE Al Dhabbaya relay.
Female announcer of Voice of Africa Sabrata in Swahili now
on air, started very late from 1321:40 UT. Break from
1200 to 1321 UT, only pure TX carrier on air.
Swahili program lasted late til 1400 UT, announcement in
French by lady "La Voix de Africa", and later ID in
English 1400-1557 UT service too, both on 17735 and
17740 kHz til 1405:30 UT.
Changed txs very late around 1406 UT to 15235 and 15240 kHz.
MADAGASCAR 7105 (USB + carrier mode), RTV Malagasy. I still believe
this must be something new/different that they are doing for World Cup
(WC) coverage. It is just too consistently good from anything I had ever
heard here in the past. The vastly improved daily reception started with
the beginning of the WC coverage. July 1 was off the air, as there was no
WC match. July 2 randomly from 1315 to 1459*. Phone in show; WC/football
Madagascar promos; Hi-Li music; coverage of WC match; Hi-Li music and
suddenly off. July 3 randomly from 1352 to 1502* basically same format.
Most days can hear // 6134.9v with weak signal, but 5010 (USB + carrier
mode) is harder to hear.
MALI 5995 La Voix du Mali, July 10 at 2228 UT local music, extended
talk in French 2230-2245 UT, back to music, ID at 2300 UT "Vous ecoutez La
Voix du
Mali".
(Ralph Brandi-NJ-USA, DXplorer July 11)
As to Mali, the only used fqs as far as I can tell are 5995 kHz evenings,
9635 kHz day time; 7285v kHz isn't heard for quite a number of months now
- and 4785v or 4835v kHz, well, it's almost ancient history now.
Right now, at nearly 2100 UT, there's a strong signal carrying some prgr
in Russian on 5995 kHz, so MLI is choked by this. An obs. on the SW coast
via the Beverage would provide a different picture.
MAURITANIA 4845 R. Mauritanie, Nouakchott, 1802-1840, 06 Jul'10,
French, newscast, Arabic after that, interviews & talks; vy. good; // 783
rated 44444, QRM de E. At least as far as my obs. are concerned, it's not
common to listen to some French from this stn.
