GERMANY [GAMBIA non] This new program for the Gambia began on May 22.
It's 15 minutes per week, and the program is in various local languages as
well as English segments. The organization which sponsors and produces the
program is the Save the Gambia Democracy Project.
Their website is
(Jeff White-FL-USA, RMI, wwdxc BC-DX TopNews June 6)
15225 As reported by Glenn Hauser in this week's World of Radio, there is
a targeted broadcast by the "Save the Gambia Democracy Project" - just 15
minutes a week, at 1815-1830 UT on Saturdays on 15225 kHz, via the Nauen
site in Germany. In the UK we'll only be getting a signal off the side of
the beam.
(Chris Greenway-UK, BDXC-UK yg, June 12)
I was able to check for the broadcast from Save the Gambia Democracy
Project. 15225 heard well on June 12 from 1815 until 1830 UT. I wasn't
able to listen to the entire 15 minutes, but it seemed to be one speaker
in a local language (Mandinka?). I didn't hear any English, nor a clear
ID.
(James MacDonell-NIG, dxld June 13)
I missed the very start of what I presume was the STGDP transmission on
15225 on 12 June, tuning-in to a talk in a West African-sounding language
at 1817 UT and listening through to the close at 1830. Just talk, didn't
hear any ID, address, mention of Gambia, or anything else to say that this
was STGDP, although it wasn't getting my full attention at the time, but
undoubtedly it was them. No English. Good reception here.
(Tony Rogers-UK, ibid.)
Yes, I heard it too - same to report as Tony. Strong and very clear signal
in Kent. Audio a bit "clipped".
