Ab Dezember sollen neue QSL-Karten in der Redaktion zum Versand
bereitliegen: Zum einen eine spezielle Karte mit Bildern vom Hoerertreffen
im Mai, des weiteren eine neue Viererserie, die den 20. Jahrestag des
Beginns des politischen Pluralismus in Albanien zum Thema hat.
Wintersendeplan und neuer Rundbrief.
Da es im deutschen Programm (nach MEZ) keine Veraenderungen gegeben hat,
wird der aktualisierte Gesamtsendeplan erst zusammen mit dem neuen
Rundbrief Ende November verschickt bzw. auf dieser Seite zur Verfuegung

Exterior (RAE) shortwave broadcasts located in General Pacheco, near
Buenos Aires, may close 1 January.
According to Koichiro Itoh, RAE's Japanese service announced the following
message on Nov 5 about the closing of shortwave transmission. Argentine
government prohibits the use of any equipment containing injurious PCB
(Polychlorinated Biphenyl) from Jan 1, 2011. This means all the shortwave
transmitters of RAE (which were installed in old days and using PCB
contained parts) will not allowed to be on air after Jan 1, unless being
replaced or repaired within this year. For the time being, Argentine
government prepares no budget for replacing or repairing. The director of
RAE will demand the government for the budget again with many requests
from listeners.

From my knowledge PCB is only dangerous if heated beyond a quite high
level then the toxic fumes inhaled or skin contact. Any transmission
winding reaching this condition should have tripped safety cut outs, so in
theory at least, would not become hazardous anyway. It's rather ironic
that although PCB is extremely dangerous over a certain 'flash' level
temperature they are , in comparison to other so called 'liquid plastics'
remarkably reliable and virtually indestructible within the 'safe' limits
