MAURITANIA 7245 ORTM has been reported missing from 4845 kHz lately,
but I hear an unexpected signal on 7245 kHz, Oct 23 at 0605 UT with
soporific wakeup chanting rather like SASASAM's on 6297 kHz, and like we
used to hear on 4845 kHz, and still going at 0615 UT. Surely it's
Mauritania on its daytime frequency much earlier than the usual switch
circa 0800 UT. Maybe it means they cannot operate on 60mb for some reason.
I rechecked 4845 kHz, and could not detect even a carrier in sideband of
WWCR 4840 kHz. I check 41mb just about every night at this time, and am
sure I was not hearing anything on 7245 kHz previously. Also inaudible on
its MW 783 kHz, which more easterly North Americans often hear.

My yesterday's observation of Radio Mauritanie on 7245 kHz.
1803-2337 UT on 23 Oct'10, French, news till 1820 UT, one adv. for a
mobile phone network, Vernaculars at 1922 UT, talks, phone-ins at
1852 UT, ..., Arabic at 2000 UT, talks, music, newscast at 2200 UT
...; 55444, but 54444 at 2000 UT, with one of the interferring stns
being Polish Radio in Polish, most of it with mass.
I stopped my obs. at the mentioned time, 2337 UT, before going to bed.
Somebody forgot to switch to 4845 kHz, but then their daytime/night time
freq switches are irregular. They were audible on 4845 kHz the previous
evening (Friday Oct 22) for instance. That was // to MW 783 kHz.

[later] 7245 R. Mauritanie, Nouakchott, at 1803-2337 UT on 23 Oct'10,
French, newscast until 1821 UT, one advertisement (for some mobile
telephone network), jingle, segments in different Vernaculars as from
1822 UT, phone-ins at 1852 UT, ..., Arabic prgr at 2000 UT, talks, music,
news at 2200 UT; 55444, but experienced some (nearly avoidable, thanks
to the K9AY), QRM=4 at 1900 UT. Possibly, they didn't switch to 4845 kHz
at all during yesterday's evening.
Today, Oct 24, I heard the usual 1800 UT segment in French, then into
Vernaculars, and like yesterday they remained on 7245 kHz: still there as
I write this, at nearly 1920 UT.

I heard R. Mauretania on 23rd after 1800 UT on 7245 kHz, like Carlos, and
also Sunday morning, 0640+ on 7245 kHz, sunday night 0005+ very strong and
still on 7245 kHz, but no trace this morning, monday 25th, around 0730 UT.
