GEORGIA [ABKHAZIA] 1350 On March 24 observed on MW s-on with nonstop
mx at 0240 UT, at 0300 UT playing longtiming National Anthem of Abkhazia,
at 0304 UT IS and ID in Abkhazian and in Russian. Also noted the end of
prgr at 1800 UT winter with nx in Abkhaz and Russian only on MW 1350 kHz
and close/down around 1814 UT (some time later here cames TWR {Gavar Kamo
Armenia?}). For month already they don't using 9495 kHz anymore, but only
9535 kHz in times UT winter:
0500-0600 and 0800-0910 were in use acc to the observations in March.

5905 kHz (1700 ... 1740 UT..) endless ID file "This is RFE/RL Praha ..."
5905 is Radio Liberty Lampertheim 1700-1800 UT 100 kW in direction of
108 degr. In previous summer 2009 used for VOA Kurdish.

An update in regard to the transmitter site at Wiederau near Pegau, once
known as "Leipzig" (which now would be ambiguous since Wiederau is no
longer the only transmitter site in Leipzig area):
The older, 236 m tall mast is no longer in use and will soon be
demolished. This was the original "J1" mediumwave antenna, later also used
for FM and VHF TV. Problems with the insulator forced them to give up this
mast for MW around 1985, leaving only two triangular hammock antennas for
the 100 kW mediumwave transmitters. The mast fell completely silent when
the ch. 9 transmitters left the air in Dec 2005, after FM had already
