Another UNKNOWN YFR program logged recently by Erich Bergmann-D, still
in A-10 season:
9850 kHz at 1900-2100 UT, recognized probably Swedish at 19 UT, Swedish or
Norwegian language at 1930 UT. English from 2000-2100 UT.
UNKNOWN 9965.5 Radio Republica relay. Per Glenn Hauser tip that the
Cuba jammer(s) target is this. Tune-in 1115 UT Oct 22, nothing (jammer or
Republica relay) present. Recheck 1239 UT, jammers up and very weak Radio
Republica audio present at 9965.5 kHz. On Oct 23, 1221-1234 UT, in the
clear with Republica audio. On Oct 24, in the clear at 1227 UT quick
check. Wonder where this is coming from. Old La Voz del CID transmitter
reactivated? Weren't they on a frequency close to this, via Guatemala or
Costa Rica? Inquiring minds want to know.
(Terry L Krueger-FL-USA, DXplorer Oct 25)
VANUATU 5055 A friend in Port Vila tells me that one of the shortwave
transmitters is currently off air with technical problems. That is the one
on 5055 kHz. A technician from Radio New Zealand is due to arrive this
week to look at the problem and get the transmitters running at full
power.
