... We were amazed to found that Mr.Sanjiv Baruah is the son of former All<br />

India Radio Director General Mr.U.L.Baruah, who wrote the one and only<br />

authoritative book on AIR “This is All India Radio” published back in<br />

1983! They also presented a big colorful fol<strong>de</strong>r of AIR external services &<br />

some AIR brochures as a souvenir to us.<br />

Our thrill of watching AIR High Power Transmitting Site at Delhi Khampur<br />

may be written in another article in the upcoming editions.<br />

The Spectrum Management Division of All India Radio welcomes reception<br />

report from European target area and reports and monitoring observations<br />

for DRM transmissions are especially appreciated. AIR is using DRM mo<strong>de</strong><br />

transmission to U.K and Europe via Delhi Khampur with 35 kW (250 kW output<br />

is not used!) from 1745-2230 UTC on 9950 kHz in English & Hindi. The<br />

analogue General Overseas Service in English can be heard in U.K and<br />

Europe from 1745-1945 on 6280, 7550 kHz and from 2045-2230 UTC on 6280,<br />

Sawa from Hillah. 92.75 1400 Idaatu Jumhuria fi Iraq min Baghdad. All in<br />

Arabic and the t<strong>im</strong>es are when were the IDs of the stations. There were<br />

many other stations in Ar, but uni<strong>de</strong>ntifie<strong>de</strong>d. Receiver - portable Sony<br />

ICF 2010 and telescopic antenna on 330 m height over sea level.<br />
