RUSSIA 216 R. Rossii, Krasnoyarsk, Siberia, at 2230-2251 UT on 14
Sep'10, Russian, talks, music & songs; // 6085 kHz; 15341. The conditions
were extremely poor at the start of the obs., with no chance of even
identifying the language, but by 2245 UT they had improved enough to
confirm it was indeed Russian as well as to check this against the HF fq
which was found to be parallel. This stn is audible on occasions after MCO
(F) 216 kHz signs off, and is normally rec'ed. via a 14 m, low noise,
vertical LF/MF antenna.
225 R. Rossii (pres), Surgut, 2331-... UT, 13 Sep'10, carrier detected,
just that; 15351. But like I said to Mauno Ritola after he pointed out coch.
POL was off for maintenance (ditto y/day., Sept 13), what else, if not
this Siberian tx?
ST. HELENA We at Radio St. Helena are also VERY SAD to have to announce
the cancellation of RSD 2010. The problems with the tower holding the 3element
Yagi antenna are such that we simply had no choice. There is no
chance to fix the tower in the next six weeks, but RSH is quite confident
that we will be able to broadcast a RSD 2011 program next year. At the
moment, I am investigating the possibility of setting up a wire antenna as
a temporary measure, but I am not at all sure whether we will be able to
do that. The technical resources on the VERY REMOTE island of St. Helena
are not so good. If anything needs to be ordered from England, then it
takes a lot of time and effort.
