Africa music. Fair, but weak under the BBC at *0300-0330*. And covered by
Voice of the Broad Masses of Eritrea at their 0355 sign on on 7210.

Also heard at *1521-1529, May 19, suddenly on with their usual repetitive
xylophone-like IS. 1529 too weak to make out any audio; 1532 seemed to be
Horn of Africa music mixing with Calgary’s C&W music; IS was in the clear,
but weak. This reception made possible by the continued absence of CNR-1.

Nice email though in broken English from Gemeda Geleto, a news reporter
for the Oromia Radio and Television organization, in reply to a 2009
report with MP3 recording.
He indicated listening to my MP3 and acknowledges it was their signal.
Says, in part, "our radio wave Adama middle wave (MW) 1035 kHz. finifine
(Addiss Ababa) short wave 6030 kHz, you listen 2009 October and I can hear
on your MP3."
Indicates the ORTO studios are in Adama "in east of ADDISS ABABA," as is
the MW xmtr but the SW xmtr is at Finifine, which I am a bit confused is
eiher another name for Addis Ababa or is a suburb district of Addis Ababa.
Geleto works mostly on the TV side of OROMIA RTV Organization, and says
soon it will be "dissminat in Canod and America," I presume that would be
via the Internet.

GEORGIA [Abkhazia] 9535 Caucasus. Abkhaz Radio from Soukhimi has
appeared again on the frequency of 9535 kHz and was heard at 0730 hours in
a local language and at 0800 hours in Russian. The station possibly have
other programs but until 0500 hours the frequency was occupied by Radio
Exterior de Espana and from 0500-0700 hours by Radio Algeria [via
Issoudun-F].

UT.

That seems new to me: 1500-1600 UT Radio Liberty to Caucasus 3 x 20 min
each, in Avar, Chechen, Circassian language, see Aoki list. Lampertheim
15545 kHz and Wertachtal 11810 kHz.
15545 from Lampertheim at 1520 UT June 2, S=6 poor, my receiving post in
dead zone. Chechen service of R Liberty also in // Wertachtal 11810 kHz,
S=8, also in dead zone.
