By 0058 UT, the unID CCI on 6130 was a little worse, possibly Laos or more
likely Tibet, but we probably can't do better on primetime 49m than share
with something on the other worldside.
At 0130 UT, 6130 kHz opens in English, fair signal and not hearing the CCI
now. Not yet checked are 6130 kHz for English at 0245 UT; 6100 kHz for
English at 0330 and 0400 UT, but on UT Monday, Tirana's night off, they
seemed to be clear enough.
At 0130 UT, 6130 kHz opens in English, fair signal and not hearing the CCI
now. At 0248, 6130 is good with no CCI or ACI. At 0343, 6100 is better
with no CCI or ACI. At 0429, 6100 is still good with no CCI or ACI.
ALGERIA 6295.15 kHz RASD Tindouf in Algeria. It's noon, and they're
still on the air, which is rather unusual. Yesterday, the (evening only?)
Castilian prgr started at 2303 UT; at 2336 UT, they were off the air:
700 kHz at 2258-2326 UT, 01 Nov'10, Arabic, music, announcement, jingle,
Castilian prgr, with music & talks; 34433, adjt. QRM de ALG 702 kHz. //
6297.15 kHz.
Today, 3rd Nov, they did it again, i.e. aired an extended morning bcast
only to close at 1300 UT, with the carrier [6297.15 kHz] removed off the
air only at 1305 UT. It became quite fluttery at 1200 UT, and remained so
until approx. 1230 UT, but then improved to the level experienced during
the, say, 30 min. segment prior to noon; fair signal, no QRM.
Yesterday's evening, the 30 min. Castilian prgr ended at 2330 UT followed
by what they may call "Natl. Anthem", so it was cut by half as compared to
many of the previous years.
ARGENTINA RAE is at the crisis of closing shortwave transmission.
Sr. Marcello Carvajal, Japanese section of RAE (Radiodifusora Argentina al
Exterior), informed Toshimichi Ohtake of JSWC, on November 3 that RAE is
now at a crisis of closing shortwave transmission. Their only shortwave
transmitter (probably Harris SW-100 at General Pacheco installed in 1977)
is had its day, and will be soon unusable unless proper repairing is done.
But Argentine government does not admit the budget for repairing.
As it is, shortwave transmission will be closed after January 1, 2011. The
director of RAE ordered all the sections to gather the mails from the
listeners to protect their shortwave transmission. Those who are willing
to continue RAE's shortwave service should send mails to
