If reports that I read are correct, today is the day for the destruction of the antenna masts of the old Vienna MW transmitter. It used to use both 585 kHz and 1476 kHz and transmissions on these frequencies closed years ago [1995]. There are two masts on site, and one has already fallen (at 1100 UT, I believe) and one is due to be felled at 1400 UT. Sender am Bisamberg werden gesprengt - der Senderaum bleibt erhalten Die Sprengung der beiden Mittelwellen-Sendemasten am Wiener Bisamberg wird am 24. Februar 2010 stattfinden. Beim Abtragen von Oesterreichs hoechstem Bauwerk, dem 265 Meter hohen Nordmasten und seinem 120 Meter hohen Pendant wird die Oeffentlichkeit auf zwei eigens eingerichteten Aussichtsstellen zuschauen koennen. Bisamberg-Sendemasten werden gesprengt. Grundsaetzlich wird eine Sicherheitszone rund um die beiden Masten eingerichtet, weswegen die Zufahrtsstrassen zur Sendeanlage gesperrt sein werden, sagte Gernot Radosits von der ORF-Sendetechniktochter ORS. Interessierte sollten am besten ueber Langenzersdorf anreisen und sich zu Fuss auf den Weg machen. Das Sicherheitspersonal wird die Zuschauer dann einweisen. Auf der Aussichtsplattform wird es Tee und Kaffee geben. Der eigentliche Mittelwellensender Bisamberg ist bereits seit 1995 nicht mehr in Betrieb. Der Kern der Anlage wurde 1933 errichtet, allerdings 1945 von den abziehenden SS-Truppen zerstoert. In ihrer heutigen Form entstand die Sendeanlage 1959 mit vier Sendern zu je 120 kW. Waehrend sich die beiden gigantischen Masten auf Wiener Stadtgebiet befinden, liegt der ueberwiegende Teil des Sendegebaeudes im niederoesterreichischen Langenzersdorf.
