China OTHR from Hainan has been heard transmitting QXX from t<strong>im</strong>e to t<strong>im</strong>e<br />

for a number of years & on 2009-12-15 around 1700 UT ZL2IFB reported it<br />

was at it again across 7061-7095 kHz. Recording attached.<br />

CRI received mearly 3 million letters/emails in 2009.<br />

The Director-General of China Radio International (CRI) mentions in his<br />

New Year Speech that CRI received a new record high of over 2.9 million<br />

letters from overseas listeners and online users in the past year. He also<br />

said that "in 2009, we have 59 language services, including six new<br />

languages, turning CRI into the media agency with the largest number of<br />

languages broadcasting to the world. We also built another 14 overseas<br />

24-hour radio stations, and our production capabilities of localized<br />

programming has also been enhanced dramatically."<br />

Therefore it is 1700-2000 UT on Firedrake is transmitted to all Jamming in<br />

substitution for CNR-1. Frequency of nationwi<strong>de</strong> CNR-1FM is announced in SW<br />

from 1730 UT.<br />
