heard Radio Free Sarawak {via HBN-Palau} at 1000 UT on 15680 kHz for the
first time. Not good, but audible
(Bjoern Fransson-SWE, wwdxc BC-DX TopNews Nov 25)
[PALAU to SARAWAK-MLA] {see also under Tajikistan} 7590, first time I am
looking for R. Free Sarawak, scheduled 2230-2330 UT from secret site, Nov
21 at 2255 UT, only a weak signal with flutter, but seems like dead air
and/or then undermodulated. Did not get any better by 2305 UT. Presumed
this, as nothing else yet scheduled in this frequency-hour. Could it be
via Angel 4, PALAU, already known to be site for the other broadcast at
1000-1100 UT on 15680 kHz, since Alan Pennington soon heard that // on the
Angel 4 stream? Now I check WHR online schedules, to find:
Angel 4:
1000-1100 Su,Mo,Tu,We,Th,Fr,Sa Radio Percuma 15680 kHz
Percuma? That's a new name for it. What does Percuma mean? I Google
translate it first in Indonesian, and get "useless" then in Malay and get
"free" so much for the two languages being almost identical! This must
amuse Indonesians. Maybe the full ID in Malay is "Radio Percuma Sarawak"
or "Radio Sarawak Percuma" the c is probably pronounced like tj or ch as
in Aceh; altho they say they are mainly using the local language Iban.
But schedule for the same transmitter reminds us it is occupied by R.
Australia during this hour, on 13590 kHz, which I also heard today:
2200-0000 Su,Mo,Tu,We,Th,Fr,Sa ABC Radio 13590 kHz
And Angel 3 is otherwise accounted for with WHR programming on 9930 kHz.
Steve Lare points out that Aoki already shows 7590 as via TJK, but also
for 15680 kHz, the latter certainly not correct. Considering the poor
reception here, Tajikistan could certainly be right for 7590 kHz, but who
knows for sure?
(Glenn Hauser-OK-USA, Nov 21)
I checked that thrice, but got never a signal into Germany post. A very
tiny carrier heard like St. Helena level ....
Maybe the azimuth from HBN Palau[?] is much southwards to Indonesia, and
doesn't make it into Europe.
Compared to all other outlets during 24hrs listening, from Tinian, Palau,
Saipan, Philippines, Japan, Taiwan, Australia, New Zealand, both Koreas,
much of all Chinese SWs, Russian Siberia and Far east, Tajikistan,
Mongolia, Kazakhstan etc.
- all these are much, much stronger than these tiny signals on 7590 and
15680 kHz.
(wb, wwdxc BC-DX TopNews Nov 20/21/22)
Listened briefly at 2230 UT, and much the same as yesterday. Too weak to
make anything out. Guess I don't have the antenna farm as Don Moman in
Alberta has!
(Walt Salmaniw-BC-CAN, DXplorer Nov 22)
7590 Radio Free Sarawak, 2234-2330* Nov 21, Man announcer in Bahasi
Malaysia interviewing another man from remote location with phone
connection with numerous mentions of "Malaysia". Vocal selection followed
by discussion by two men in studio. Several nice IDs, mention of "Malaysia
