Radio Dabanga". Possible news followed in Sudanese with brief ann
interspersed with even briefer music. Fair.

15341 kHz 09-14 UT May 8th.

MYANMAR 6035 Myanma Radio, at 1208-1337 UT on May 1. In vernacular with
music program till the start of the Minorities and Distance Learning
Services lectures at 1330 UT; // 5915 kHz. Was able to occasionally hear
Vietnamese (PBS Yunnan) underneath, so the real loser here is Bhutan!
Yesterday Myanmar was not here during this time period.
So they seriously want to use this frequency! Heard FOUR transmitters on
the air at the same time (5915, 5985.76v, 6035 and 7185.75v kHz). Back in
mid-March the Naypyidaw transmitter was pulled from service on 5985.0 kHz
and replaced with the off frequency Yangon transmitter. Perhaps the
6035 kHz transmitter is the one at Naypyidaw, formerly on 5985.0 kHz?

5985.00 / 5985.83v May 5, Myanma Radio. The folks at Yangon and Naypyidaw
are certainly experimenting with their transmitters! Tuned in at 1339 to
find Yangon on about 5985.83v (past two days had been via Naypyidaw on
5985.00); then checked 5915 kHz to find them with a distinctive ECHO; yes,
they were broadcasting the same Minorities and Distance Learning Services
lecture via TWO transmitters; echo ended about 1350 UT; checked 5985.83v
again and found them still there, but suddenly heard a strong het; tuned
down to 5985.00 to find that Naypyidaw had started broadcasting; after
1400 the Yangon off frequency transmitter went off the air. When 5985.00
and 5985.83v kHz were both on they were NOT parallel. Strange
developments!
