normal, but also it will depend on the transportation availability. We
hope the city will slowly come to normal with the days, but we will try to
stay ON as much as possible with CVC transmissions and HCJB transmissions
as well.
I would like to ask you for your prayers for our Team, their families, our
site, the transmissions and the country. God Bless you all!
Currently there is a radio war going on, which is affecting radio hams and
other legit stations, between a private group connected to the Falung Gong
movement in Taiwan and the PRC. The Taiwanese apparently use converted ham
equipment to transmit their message to mainland China (often using ham
bands or frequency bands allocated to other users). As soon as they go on
air a transmitter having been traced to the Chinese island of Hainan
starts transmitting Chinese classical music at high volume on the same
frequency. This Chinese jammer is called the "Fire Drake Jammer". The
problem is that, with the transmissions being on HF, they disturb radio
traffic on these frequencies all over the world.
Two NEW jamming sites to come online in China soon!
China will be activating two new transmitter sites by June which will be
used for jamming my sources in CRI inform me. The locations are:
Qinghai (located some 100 km outside Xining City)
Guizhou (located some 70 km outside Guiyang City).
Each site will house 4 transmitters and the antennas are Chinese copies of
Thales Group ALLISS antennas. Power output is suggested to be around 300
and 500 kW (unconfirmed).
Both sites will used Firedrake and echo jamming using CNR 1 as well as
some local stations.
My sources also told me that in the last few weeks on some occasions
CRI's China Drive program was fed to the Hainan jamming site.
(Keith Perron-TWN, dxld March 1)
Firedrake March 1: at 1336 UT on 13625 kHz, vs nothing else detectable,
but RFA in Tibetan via TINIAN is scheduled, 12-14 UT.
Keith Perron reminds us that the Commie Party Congress is imminent, and
each spring jamming levels greatly increase. We are certainly seeing that
with CNR1 even more pervasive, but seldom bother to log those and try to
figure out whether jamming or legit.
Firedrake on new frequencies, however, really stands out. March 2 at 1315
