5080 George McClintock tells me that WTWW is moving from 5755 to 5080 kHz
starting 0000 UT Saturday March 13. The frequency has been approved by the
FCC, subject to the usual NIB complaints, which could end it in one day or
somewhere down the road.
I am afraid there will be some, as there is a pretty constant and strong
ute on 5078, which I just reconfirmed at 0025 UT March 12, not sure of the
mode, but sort of RTTY with regular beep patterns. Even if it does not
complain, should be considerable QRM to WTWW.
He says WTWW will remain on 9480 as day frequency, and 5755 to be held for
WTWW-2, now under construxion but not to be on the air for a few months.
It appears that Scriptures for America Pastor Pete Peters will continue to
be the prime if not only customer on WTWW-1.
9480, however was off the air when I checked at 2135 and 2258 March 11.
George says he was working on getting the remote control funxional, and
now it is; 5755 was on as usual at 0025 UT March 12.
5080 UNID (tentative: WTWW, Lebanon in Tennessee, USA), 1008-1015 UT,
March 14, English, Religious talk by male (in english), 24422 Strong QSB.
(Arnaldo Slaen-ARG, DXplorer Mar 14)
It is WTWW, Arnaldo, ending "Scriptures for America" prgm at 1100* UTC.
Said they were "closing down on this frequency" at 1100 UT but kept going.
Very strong here.
(John Herkimer-USA, DXplorer March 14)
Arnaldo and others, thanks for highlighting this. This morning I heard
5080 kHz the Gospel Station WTWW fading in at 0020 UT, peaking around 0040
UT staying there till 0100 UT and diving down to nothing by 0115 UT. BTW
sunrise here is 0015 UT or so these days and here in the tropics it gets
dark very fast after sunset and also daylight zooms in a few minutes after
sunrise.
I want to send a report. I heard bits and pieces and could follow a bit
now and then. I have 100% on this one but will they?!! I don't chase QSLs
much tho. I have logged more than 200 SWBC but have about 500 QSLs!! I
will wait a few more days to see if things get better! Can someone give me
a QSL address. They announced both a POBox and www, but I couldn't copy
clearly enough. This is 50 kW I presume.
Thanks guys. Victor.
Hi Victor, The only address I could find is: Leap of Faith, Radio Station
WTWW, 6611 Ormond Dr, Nashville, TN 37205, U.S.A.
There is a website but no contact information there. The
FCC database shows 50 and 100 kW:
