Ceausescu's last public appearance on 21 Dec 1989. Sud<strong>de</strong>nly the rally gets<br />

into panic, for still unknown reasons. This is the vi<strong>de</strong>o tape from the OB<br />

van or its feed, the live transmission on TV had been interrupted until<br />

Ceausescu resumed his speech.<br />

22 Dec 1989, about 40 minutes after Nicolae und Elena Ceausescu left<br />

Bucharest by helicopter: A crowd gets into studio 4 of TVR, a set for<br />

newscasts with bluebox graphics. Heavy dispute with TV staff because the<br />

crowd suspects the TV people to fool them. Command from the director in<br />

Alleged "terrorist" brought forward on 23 Dec. In the evening of 22 Dec<br />

1989 shootings started, most of the vict<strong>im</strong>s have been killed at a point<br />

when the Ceausescu government had already been overthrown. "Terrorists"<br />

have been blamed for this. Basically the whole matter is still a mystery.<br />
